Mom's Day

We had a special surprise this Mom's Day with Eighty plus degree weather. So we got the boat out for the first time this year and Shan got to hang with her boys on the river. After a nice time on the water we loaded up, dropped the boat off, and went to Jan's for dinner. There was three generations of Mom's there. Shan, Shan's mom Jan, and Jan's mom Gigi. I got Shan a put-together picnic table and we all put it together and painted it for our very special "Mom". We have already used it more then I can count, eating, or just hanging out. A great Mom's day for sure.
What a great Mom's day.

Transformation

The excavation has been going on for several weeks to make the shift from no driveway, very old and broken concrete, overgrown trees, overgrown landscaping and a lot of black berry's removed, we have reset landscape and it turned out fantastic. We have a new driveway and a new patio carved in (which Shan has already started to arrange). There is also a nice three car pad that will have the new boat canopy hopefully up this weekend. We installed underground power, internet, phone, and cable tv to the office/shop as well as adding a french drain. The excavation turned out great, and can't hardly wait to rake it out, compact it and finish it. Farm Animal Update - the Chickens are snuggling out in the
chicken coop and are growing fast. As for Norman and Chewy, they finally got teeth and they are eating a lot more everyday, and I mean everything! You can't help to love those two little boys. They are so affectionate and loving. They will follow you to the end of the earth nibbling on everything along the way.

House update

Thanks to Eric and his great work on the excavator, the driveway is almost in with a 3 car carport pad. All of the old concrete, landscaping, half dead trees, scrubs, and a lot of the blackberry bushes are gone. The elevation has been leveled, and we installed a French drain to protect the foundation. The French drain is huge wall of bed rock installed into a deep trench that wraps around the house with a perfer
ated pipe at the bottom to catch all the water before it gets to the foundation. Also we ran all new electric conduit from the house to the office/shop under ground.

We got our baby Chicks

It's true... We got six new baby chickens. So our small farm has grown a little. They are only are a few days old but they are growing fast. We got them all hooked up in the laundry with a heat lamp, and nice large tote for their new nesting area, As Norman and Chewy have out grown the house for nighty night time. Love the sound of the chirping they make when you walk into the room, and funny how Chickens put them selves to bed. Right now they are sleeping. Love that. They are so cute and were gonna have a few shades of brown and green eggs when they get bigger. Humm... green eggs and ham for breakfast???
