Parker had Eric bring over his mini excavator to dig out a level area for the swimming pool. He unloaded it off the trailer drove it over to the spot straddling plants along the way. He dug it out and also demolished the old fire pit and leveled out that area. Were going to install a new fire pit back by the 3rd building. Parks did a great job and we are one load of sand away from getting the pool up for summer. Great job Parks!
So the Jensen Bese camp has its first high school student. Yep, Robbie graduated from Leslie middle school, and is going to be a freshman this fall at South Salem high school. Where does the time go? Congratulations to Luke, Nick, and Parks too as summer vacation is in full swing.
I clicked these pictures off the other day. I walked into the kitchen and they they were. Usually they hang out down by the creek but this day they were up by the house. The little baby is so cute, and the mom was very watchful over her and I was very watchful of our garden.
We weren't surprised when Luke said he wanted to go out for track and field and he wanted run the hurdles and do the long jump. Not surprised because his growth spurt, has given him some long legs, perfect for track. He worked very hard in practice and really had a break through on figuring out his stride and steps in the 110 meter hurtles. Now the suprise came when he ran in the all city meet and had the fastest seven grade time in the hurtles. All the hard work paid off for him. Being the fastest in his grade earned him a invitation to run in the regional race "Meet of Champions" in Corvallas. He got seventh. What a great first year for Luke, can't hardly wait till next season
Once again Parks and three of his buddies ran in the Country Kid's 4 X 100 relay race. But this wasn't just any race because Shan was the coach this year. It's a super fun race with all the Salem and Keizer elementary schools participating. So with that many kids racing how do you get your team to stand out? Yep...Spray paint their hair with some wild colors, that will for sure get them to stand out. There was a roar from the crowd and most everyone were on there feet as Parks screamed down the track in front of the stadium to the finish line. Great job Shan for getting the boys race ready and putting in the time for the practices too, and Parks and his buddies for the entertainment.
Last Monday after the boys got out of school, we loaded up the boat and hit the boat club. We also brought a few of their friends too. The boys broke in the new tube. It's a behemoth. biggest tube we've ever had. It's Costso size fits our family perfect. The boys also swam and played on the beach. It's not Shan and my first time out this year we already been out riding several times with friends. And heck ya with wet suits. Were alittle silly but not crazy. Really looking for alot more fun times on the boat this season.
Shan and I were so happy to host Mom's day 2013 at our camp. Everybody seemed to have a good time checking out our little farm, and thankfully Norman and Chewy were on their best behavior. I got the deep fryer going with some fries and onion ring appetizers, followed up by John's tastey BBQ burgers and dogs. We are thankful for such a great family, love every one of them long time!
