Benny's here!

OMG. Today was a total ten for our camp. Benny is in the house! We traveled up to Oregon City this morning with four VERY excited boys ready to interact with the puppies and pick one out. We played with them for a while and it was pretty obvious which one was Benny. I actually grabbed him and put him on my lap and he fell asleep. The other two were rampaging around. We asked the boys to step out side and Shan and I finalized the decision and introduced Benny to the boys. The boys were ecstatic and Shan cried. Twelve minutes each, was that was on Shan's I Phone timer, for each of the boys to hold him on the way home. Shan got a turn too with Benny draped over her shoulder. He did great sleeping most of the way home. Laid back is Benny, but he has proved to have a lot of energy too. He was so tuckered out at the end of the day. Parks took him up to the office and back several times with Benny in tow without a leash. He had dinner out side next to us at the picnic table, unleashed and entertaining us. He got a bath and right now, as I write this, he is asleep in Park's and Nick's room between them. Tomorrow when he wakes up, the boys will be right there for that little man. History is being written.

Grapefest

Were going to have a great Grape harvest this year. Tons of baby clusters every where. I had to trim the front office entry so It has a arched shape that gives it a tunnel effect when you go thorough it. The bunnies love not only the baby grapes but the leaves too. It's cool to just reach up and tear off a a grape branch and feed it to them. Whats way cool is the aroma the grapes put out late summer when the grapes turn red and ripen. It's amazing!

Dot and Spot

Appropriately named.... We call our new bunnies Dot and Spot. The picture with their mugs is a little blurry, but you can see Dot has a small marking by her nose on the left side and Spot has a bigger spot her right. Love them. It was touch and go at first because they kept getting out. They would run off but they are not safe unless they are in their enclosure. We now have fortified the bunny Casa and so nothing can get in or out unless authorized. It is so very cool to have them there to greet you when you walk by. Just like old times. The girl we bought them from handled them daily and so they love the interaction. Harvesting a few greens and carrots and feeding them is fun!

The ladies

So I felt I trapped enough riffraff out of the forest to get some new spring Chickens. We got two new ladies that are suppose to be big time egg layers. We love the farm fresh eggs and can't wait for them to get busy. Sisters at heart, they too are inseparable, just like Norman and Chewy. The kids don't seem to mind that they are sharing their crib with the ladies, and they are safe in there.

Puppy update

Shan and I took the boys up today to check in on the puppy's. They are at four weeks and have grown a lot. Up and moving around, and a little tug of war playing with a toy out of one of them, they are growing up fast. So dang cute they are. We didn't pick out our puppy yet as they are changing so much at this early stage. They have already introduced dog food to them and the weening process has started with the mom. So July first is the tentatively date to pick out our little guy and bring him back to the camp. We absolutely can't wait. We got to meet Charley, the pups dad today. What a great dog. Excitement is in the air.

Luke's Graduation

Big congrats to Luke! We attended Luke's 8th grade graduation last week. He will be a freshman at West next year. We got some great family pictures and it was extra special to have Nanie there. Luke, we are so proud of you; great grades, great job in sports, and a great kid!! After the graduation there was a dance at West, cute picture of Luke and Madison!

Nick's thirteen

Happy birthday Nickers. Yep, that old timer is a teenager. Thirteen and doing great. Nick's birthday wish list was more clothes than toys, so he's all set up for summer. His last present he got to open was Oakley sunglasses. Nice choice Nick. Rockin Rogers was his dinner of choice and Shan's home made Chocolate cake was his dessert he wanted. He also got some great cards with that birthday cash from Papa, Nanny, and Chris and Codie. New wheels too for his long board. Now we have three teenage boys in the camp. I know what your thinking... But actually they are great. Brothers thru and thru.

It's a boy!

The Jensen Bese camp just grew by one. We are welcoming our new baby puppy on July fifth to our camp. We get first pick of the litter and we want a boy. There are four pups in the litter, one female and the rest boys. It was a special treat to meet them just two weeks into their lives. Just starting to open their eyes and not walking yet they are so cute. A rare privalge it was. We will pick out our little man in two weeks and get to bring him home in July. The boys are ecstatic. Purebred English lab, will make for a great addition to our camp. We also got to meet "Chester", their grandpa, who was so friendly with his big white coat and "Ruby" the red mom lab in the pictures. We think we have a name picked out but not sure what one we are going to be bring home. Exciting times!
