Robbies' Fifteenth Birthday
Robbie's fifteen! Started off with a sleep over party with his friends. He got to open his presents Friday night with milk shakes that followed. He got some cool Nike T shirts and shorts, but his big present was a new long board. So Saturday we took the boys to Bush park to to ride their long boards on the soap box derby track. Saturday night we surprised all the boys by not telling them where we were taking them. Got them in the car and headed out. Secretly we had bought tickets earlier to the downtown Salem comedy club for the family. I slipped a note and a little cash for the comics to have fun with the birthday boy. Funny, but before they got Robbie up on stage, Nick got pulled up. Gotta say those comics are funny and Nick and Robbie fit right in. We all had some big time laughs. I will be taking that little man to DMV to get his driving permit. Yikes!

Longboarding
So the boys have graduated from skate boards to Longboards. They all have new gear, and I think longboarding is a ton safer than skateboarding, the difference being the board is longer and wheels are wider and smoother. Besides Nick's bad road rash crash on a skateboard, it's been for the most part, safe, with little injuries. The gear... Special leather gloves with a round puck in the palm so you can put hands down and slide the board around. Tight fitting helmet, new deck, bearings, sliding custom wheels, and their favorite stickers to accessorize their sweet ride.

Boat launch
So with Winter ending and Spring sprung, it's was time to shovel off all the mud that the river has deposited on the boat launch in preparation for tons of boat club fun. Shan jumped in and followed up with a good hosing down of the ramp to displace the mud residue shovels couldn't remove. When we got done the ramp was ready for a busy summer. Gotta say, Ben, another board member was great , he shoveled a lot of it before we got there, and left us to finish the project. It was a nice warm evening with the water looking absolutely beautiful. Just Shan and I at the club, so it made for a fun date with just us, butter on the river, and ice cold beers. Sweet night

Shan's new job
Who's hungry? I ordered a number three, super sized, at McDonalds and Shan cooked my burger today. No it's not her new job, she was working a fund raiser for her school. They were having a ton of fun! Shan came out to say hi from the hot grill for a fun photo opp. All the staff were doing a great job, having lots of fun, and Hi-Jacking the Parkway McDonalds to raise money for Weddle Elementary.. I took Robbie to witness the buffoonery with me and he and I got great service, even though it was packed, Quick turn-around, and my burger was yummy. Next time were going to hit the drive thru because the service their is "Golden", like their fry's.
