Another beach trip

We got some cool images at the beach. Yes another beach trip, but the convenience of living just off HWY 22, is that we are just a hop, skip, and a jump to the beach. Benny is hilarious. He's a wild child when he hits the beach. Running full throttle chasing birds and splashing in the water. He loves playing "fetch", and he will release what ever he has in his mouth. And the best part is that he sleeps all the way home.

Benny update

So Benny has been growing so fast. His paws and legs are a lot bigger than his body. When he grows into those he's gonna be a big boy. We took him to the beach last weekend and he absolutely loved it. We unleashed him and let him run wild, in and out of the water, and chasing the birds was just what he needed. We also took him to the boat club. I call it "Benny's athletic club". He gets his cardio, running and swimming with no leash and nobody else down there he runs all over the place. Looking at the water, kind of makes me think we put the boat away for the season too early.

Spring now?

Geez you would think it was spring with all the deer that are out and about. Pretty sure we have two families that visit. Last week I went to take a shower and got a close up out the bathroom window of a fawn baby and spike baby. Super cute. Today I clicked off the other images of two little babies eating the last of our carrots from the garden which are for the bunny. They were really little. We have had other deer pass thru from time to time. Funny Norman and Chewey couldn't care less. Hope they are back tomorrow.

Shan is forty three

Happy forty third birthday to Shan. We had some friends meet us at the "Half Penny", a local night club last weekend to start off Shan's birthday extravaganza week. Great time was had and the band was great. Yesterday, Shan's birthday we celebrated her birthday with the family, Chris and Jan. It was a nice September evening with a big old throw down with chicken yakisoba noodles and rice around the picnic table. Presents and cake with forty three candles on it rounded out the night. Oh yea... She got a serious foot massage complete with steaming hot towel. Yep! Forty three years young and still kickin it.

Shan's new class room

Shan has worked hard to organize and get her classroom shovel ready for the first day of school. Her classroom is cool with a full bathroom, office, huge storage room, time out room, plenty of table space, computer area, and of coarse still has that new school smell. All state of the art equipment too. I think Shan is as just excited as the kids are. Great job Shan!

Peaches n Pumpkins

What? Peaches n Pumpkins? Yep. What I thought was a crazy hair-brained idea to buy some bare root fruit trees and plant them and expect fruit? It was weird to plant a tree with no root ball or anything but a stick. Well, the peaches are here and they are great. All the trees are doing great. And the pumpkin plant is a behemoth, it sprawls from the planter boxes into Benny n Jet's yard. We must have planted it way too early because they are already mature and we had to harvest them. First pumpkins up in the hood.

Benny

Benny has had a busy summer camping, boating, and everything in between. He has fit in to our family perfectly. He's a great little man, loves the boat and swimming. Sleeps in the car, and he has his crazy energy blasts that are hysterical. He has a lot of personality and is super funny. Jet has figured out now that Benny is getting bigger and he has got to respect him. He camped out with Shan and I last weekend on the boat at Detroit. And yes... he's a bed hog!

Shan's project

So, Shan had what I originally thought was a hair-brained idea, which turned into a really cool wall. Shan set up a project area in the driveway complete with covered area to keep you out of the heat while you saw-all off the boards and prep them with a little belt sanding, then the stain is applied. Different tones she used so every board is different. Sawzalling the boards off also kept the original nails in all the boards. It is hard work to collect the pallets, recruit some family members to help transform pallets to reclaimed wood, stain it, and lay out the final project in rows to dry. Love the wall... We are going to use the middle support boards from the pallets that has the manufacture stamped on it as a header on the back side of the room.
