Freerider's Ball 2011
Last weekend we headed up to Koppert lake to ride in the Freeriders Ball wake boarding contest and camp out. We rented a U Haul Trailer to fit bikes, wake boards, and camping gear so we could take "Sugar" our new SUV. Luke rode in the thirteen and younger, and Shan rode in the women's division, and I rode in the masters. None of us made it to the podium, but we had a lot of fun competing against some of the best riders in the northwest. If you don't know about Koppert lake, it's a man made lake for wake boarding and water skiing. It's made out of clay so that's why it looks like chocolate milk.

Greg and Katie's Wedding
Ever been to San Juan Island? It's on the border between Washington and Canada. A hour ferry ride out of Anacortes. We went there for Greg and Katie's Wedding. The wedding and the island were perfect. Shan and I had a great time at the wedding and exploring the island. The weather was superb for a great outside wedding and reception. During the reception John (Katie's father) laid down a touching speech that moved everyone to tears. We laughed and cried as he spoke with such great words. Kinda funny, during the reception two buck deer came down and joined us. They weren't scared at all and I have to say that's a first for me. The island was a perfect back drop for the wedding. Shan and I rented mopeds, explored the harbors that moor some of the coolest boats in the world. Camped out on a lake, shopped the the cool stores, and went sight seeing. It was a "TEN" weekend for sure. Congrats Greg and Katie

Camping out on the boat
One of the funnest things we have done on the boat is Camp out. Well this time it was the whole family and our friends the Springer's(on their boat). After a full day of of surfing, wake boarding, swimming, and hair raising tube rides it was time to head up the cove a find our favorite spot to anchor up. There was just enough room and we all had a great time. The boys really loved it and were going to try hit Detroit one more time before summer is over.

Cool pic's
Check out these images they are way cool. It was my Dad's day gift. My new Go Pro Camera is the bomb. Its a tiny tiny little camera that has a killer case that's waterproof. And bonus... It creates everything in High HD, and takes pic's and videos. The boys highjacked it and caught these images last weekend at Detroit . This is a camera of the future.

Hoopla
Once a year Salem shuts down some down town city streets and erects dozens of basketball half courts. This is no YMCA basketball, this is street ball. With music playing, games going seemingly none stop, prizes being given out, and sponsored by the National Gaurd....It's Hoopla! I coached Robbie and Luke's team. I was hugely surprised how rough the ref's let them play. On Saturday we won two out of three games putting us in the winners bracket for Sunday. However on Sunday we lost to a much taller and older team eliminating us for the championship. The boys had fun and what a great experience.
